A Week of Truth
Mercy and truth are met together;
Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.
(Psalm 85: 10 KJV)
This is a remarkable text, and much has been said on it.
But there is a beauty in it which, has to be appreciated.
*Mercy and truth, righteousness and peace are the spiritual qualities.
*This atmosphere which David revealed and related to the future kingdom of Jesus Christ.
*These four qualities are in perfect harmony.
*Mercy and peace are on one side; truth and righteousness on the other.
*Mercy and peace are divine.
Truth and righteousness are humane.
*Truth requires righteousness; mercy calls for peace.
*They meet together on the way.
One (Truth) is going to make inquisition for sin, the other (Mercy) to plead for reconciliation.
*Having met, their differences are adjusted.
*Their mutual claims are blended together in one common interest.
*So peace and righteousness immediately embrace.
*Thus, righteousness is given to truth, and peace is given to mercy.
Now, Where did these meet?
* In Christ Jesus.
When were they reconciled?
* When he poured out his life on Calvary.

Withhold not thy tender mercies from me, O Lord: let thy loving kindness and thy truth continually preserve me.
(Psalm 40: 11 KJV)
It’s a prayer of David.
David, inspite of all his sins, he looks forward to the Lord in future.
*He confessed his sins.
*He reestablished his spiritual integrity to God.
*He depended on God.
*He expected God to raise him up.
*He confronted with his enemies.
*He praised God.
*He pleaded for His tender mercies.
*He pleaded for His loving kindness.
*He pleaded for His truth to preserve him.
*Yes, the Lord heard his prayers and preserved him.
* Isn’t it wonderful that we are redeemed from our sins by our Saviour and He is blessing us with all His goodness?

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
(3 John 1: 4 KJV)
Here in this verse John radiates the love for the spiritual children.
Spiritual children walk in truth.
When they walk in truth,
*they have love.
*they have faith.
*they have hope.
*they have honesty.
*they have sincerity.
*they care for one another.
*they are sacrificing.
*they are selfless.
*they are contented
*they are self disciplined.
*they have all goodness in them.
* But when we walk in darkness,
*we are hypocrites.
*we can’t be upright.
*we are afraid.
*they are shady.
*we have no joy.
*we are not purposeful.
*we are selfish.
*we are escapists.
*we have all evils in us.
So let each one of us walk in truth in order to be carefree and be the children of Christ and thereby lead a good life in the sight of God.

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
(Psalm 91: 4 KJV)
Safety in the abiding the presence of God
It’s picture protection of a mother bird.
Here it’s God’s protection of His children.
When God is present in us,
*we are protected by His tender love and kindness. (It’s soft and cozy as feathers.)
*we are sheltered with a widespread outstretched arms of God to protect us from the worldly dangers, as the bird’s wings protect the chicks.
*we are shielded by His truth the greatest protection, which will keep our minds in guard, intact and pure.
*We trust on His trust for His children.
*we need not fear any evil or wickedness.
God be with us.

But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into Him in all things, which is the Head, even Christ:
(Ephesians 4: 15)
(The letter of Paul to the people of Ephesus)
Spirituality is nothing but knowing the Word of God and living accordingly.
God has assigned each one of us different jobs.
Some are apostles, some are prophets, some are evangelists, some are pastors and some are teachers.
Jesus is our great Pastor.
One who holds the office is called the elder in church. The bishop brings all the three terms together.
*As days have gone by, we have different kinds of work in various fields.
*All we have to do is to check whether God is involved in the work we take up to uplift the world which He has created.
*The work we do should involve in obedience to scriptures and thereby we should edify, nurture and develop.
For that purpose it should be built…….
*in unity of faith among the members.
*on oneness and harmony among the members.
*on the foundation of sound doctrine.
*on the knowledge of His Word or Scriptures.
*and with spiritual maturity and perfection.
* Most importantly, when we render our services, truth should be proclaimed in love.
Truth in love is the outcome of the spiritual maturity.
Without maturity, truth can be cold and love is emotional.
We have to completely yield to His will according to His Word and have Him as the Head and the Leader in our work place.

Let’s pray
Lord, give us always the strength to speak truth, act truthfully and think truthfully.Keep away from lies and deceitfulness. Let’s always follow you. Amen.
Glory be to God
