Reflection
Immediately the Spirit drove Him into the wilderness.
Mark 1: 12 NKJV
*Jesus was baptised by John the Baptist in the Jordan.
*The Holy Spirit came in the form of a dove.
*The heaven was split open and heard a voice saying,
“You are My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
*Of course it’s a privilege that God spoke to Him from Heaven.
*Immediately we think about a grand celebration as on today people hold parties for anything and everything.
*Contrary to that the spirit drove Jesus into the wilderness. What a contrast!
*He was tempted, tested and terrorised.
*We see in the book of Psalms, fear is the beginning of all wisdom.
*Baptism is a holy occasion, which has to be taken up with all fearfulness of God.
*It’s a process of cleaning up all our sins with His mighty blood, purify us with His Word and fill us with His Holy Spirit.
*After Jesus overcame all the worldly snares with the protection and the ministry of His angel, He let Himself to minister the world.

“Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!”
Mark 1: 24 NKJV
Satan is

aware of His power
At the sight of Jesus, he is powerless.
He can’t stand in par with Jesus.
He stumbles.
He knows that Jesus destroys the unclean spirits.

aware of His purpose
Jesus drives away the unclean spirits.
He cleanses the people.
Unclean spirits can not touch the people in His presence.
He set them free.

aware of His purity
Jesus is the Holy one of God.
He is truthful
He is righteous
He is sinless due.

*Knowing fully well, Satan tries to set his kingdom in this world.
*So when trials and temptations occur, let’s cling onto Him and follow him steadfastly.
*His grace is sufficient for us.

When Jesus heard it, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”
Mark 2: 17 NKJV
The birth of Jesus was a sign of humility.
The death of Jesus was a sign of tyranny.
His resurrection is the abundance of God’s glory
Sitting on the throne has the heights of His majesty.
So, all combined, Jesus is our Saviour and redeemer!
Being with the sinners is a blessed privilege for Jesus.
His association was mainly with them

The underprivileged
The lady who had the bleeding for twelve years
Peters mother-in-law who was in bed
The people with leprosy, the down cast
Lazarus who died four days back.
And many others.

*All they needed was His touch and they were healed.
*The healing was not just a touch, but a faithful touch from both ends.
*Such faith arises only from belief.
*And the belief is that Jesus Christ is our Saviour

The Handicapped:
the blind who hasn’t seen Jesus
The deaf who hasn’t heard about Jesus
The dumb who hasn’t spoken about His gloryThe man with the withered hand who hasn’t raised his hands to say hallelujah
The lame who hasn’t entered in His temple.

*They were made whole with the loving kindness of Jesus.
*They praised the Lord and spread the glory of the Saviour in their towns.

The Sinners:
the woman who came to draw water from the well.
The woman who was adulterous.
Dining with sinners and the tax collectors

*They were the outcast of the society.
*Jesus was with them.
*Their sins were forgiven and they were saved.
*They have seen the glory of Jesus Christ.

Unclean spirits:
Demons are cast into swines
Delivery of demon possessed son

*Jesus had the faith that the demons would obey His Word.
*When pleaded by the demons not to send them away from the country, Jesus listened to them. Safely they entered into a herd of swine, the unclean animal.
Jesus’ association with the down trodden gave them comfort and confidence to stand up in this world.
And the poor say, ‘I am rich with His glory.’

Glory be to God
