Life Restored
Matthew 9: 18-26; Mark 5 21-43; Luke 8:40-56 Linked
The stories regarding the ruler and the woman are the simple faith in Jesus.
∗ The ruler asked Jesus to touch his dead daughter so that she would be raised up. Such was his faith on Jesus.
∗ Jesus went to his house and He said that she was not dead.
∗ Spiritually dead people ridiculed Jesus.
∗ Jesus knew that her death was not permanent, for she was about to raise up.
∗ Jesus raised her up and people stood in wonder.
* The woman was convinced that if she could touch the fringes of His garment, she would be healed.
∗ This woman came trembling, yet her faith saved her. There may be trembling, where yet there is saving faith.
∗ We have seen two beautiful examples of faith.
∗ When the sick woman and Jairus were helpless and hopeless, Jesus was the answer.
∗ Jairus put his trust in Jesus, and Jesus brought life, where there once was death.
∗ The woman came to Jesus and Jesus brought healing and peace.
In the kingdom of God, suffering ends, hearts are mended, and new life takes the place of death.

Healing Two Blind Men Matthew 9:27-29

Healing Two Blind Men Matthew 9:27-29

Matthew 9 : 27 – 30 Linked
Two blind men were healed because of their faith and His mercy.
∗ Two blind men call Him the “Son of David.” This emphasises  His Messiah ship.
∗ This is the first time Jesus is addressed this way, and it shows that these blind men recognise Jesus as the Messiah.
∗ Also, the mercy to heal comes from God and they recognise that too.
∗ It is amazing how much these blind men could see rather than people who are blessed with good vision.
∗ He touches them at their oppression and heals them which was as repulsive as leprosy.
∗ So touching them has special significance. He doesn’t just talk to them.
∗ Jesus tells them not to tell anyone which shows His simplicity.
∗ But they disobey. They don’t follow His will for them.
∗ This is the same thing that we saw in the miracle of the leper who was told to be silent, but didn’t.
∗ They experienced His mercy, but disobey the mandate because they are joyous about their healing.
∗ Jesus lives and heals.

Speech Restored
Matthew 9 : 32-34 Linked
People marvelled at the miracles and said that it was never seen like
that in Israel.
∗ Whereas the pharisees knowing fully well that it was God’s power, made
a sarcastic comment saying that Jesus had the power of Satan.
∗ Are we like the people or the pharisees?

Let’s pray…..
Lord, let’s have the faith in You as the ruler and the woman had and make our sorrow into joy.
Lord, we thank You for your mercy and grace. You are the Healer.
Lord, make us to check and change our attitudes to glorify Your name. Amen.
Glory be to God
