LOOK NOT BACK…… LOOK NOT BACK
Lots and lots to meditate about Lot’s wife;
Had a pious and gentle husband sat at the gate;
Welcomed two heavenly visitors during his life
The warning was divine; – not to be too late.
The impulse of her feeling was sentimental.
Her thoughts of unbelief became functional.
Discard and disregard of law was prominent,
And the Word was declined with contempt.
Though the warning was given cautiously;
“A pillar of salt,” she became seasonally;
For God’s wrath struck her righteously;
The punishment received was exemplarily.
What to remember is to flee and not to be delayed,
To forgo the worldly pleasure and temptation,
And not to look back and be hasty over hesitation
’Cos if lingered, the danger behind is being killed.
There stood a monument of God’s divine wrath,
A beacon of warning to the coming generation,
That we might not fall into the same condemnation,
Hence reflect and meditate, fear and honour His Truth.
