THE DIVINE POWER OF JESUS
∗The divine touch of Jesus healed the mother-in-law of Peter.
∗The divine Word of Jesus drove away the demons.
∗The brevity of the miracles highlights the incomparable authority of Jesus as the Messiah.
∗Christ bore both guilt and curse of our sins with his stripes and we are healed. (Isaiah 53:4&5)
∗Both physical healing and ultimate victory over death are guaranteed by Christ. (I Cor 15:26)
JESUS HEALS…..
When Jesus and his followers left the synagogue, they went to the house of Simon and Andrew for their Sabbath meal. They found Simon Peter ‘s mother-in-law in bed with fever in a serious condition. Jesus’ healing allowed her to rise immediately and began to wait on her guests. At sundown all the city was gathered and Jesus was healing the sick and driving the demons from the possessed.
JESUS…….
∗ is authoritative when he casts out the evil spirits from the men.
∗ drives always the spirits with right words.
∗ has the power to command the devils.
∗ has the determination to send the unclean spirits out of the man.
∗ rebukes the fever and the power of healing comes to Peter’s mother-in-law.
∗ is a door of hope.
HIS POWER COMES…….
★ FROM GOD!
★ HE IS THE SON OF GOD!!
LOOK AT THE IRONY……
* Satan recognises the Holiness in Jesus – the Holy One of God, whereas the pharisees, Sadducees and Scribes are not able to believe Jesus.
AFTER HEALED……
★After we are healed we have to minister Him as Peter’s mother-in-law ministered Jesus!
THE TOUCH (Poem)
The mother-in-law of Peter was sick of fever.
The touch of the Lord Jesus healed her
To arise and minister them with all her soul.
Approached that eve all devil possessed men,
And Jesus cast out with His Word so powerful
All the infirmities and the sickness of the men.
Thereby the prophecy of Isaiah did he fulfil.

Let’s pray…..
Lord, when we are sick, let’s not become the slave of our ailments. Instead let’s ask for Your authority, power and determination and pray for the right words to cast away our sickness.
Lord, let’s be healed by Your touch and Your blood.
Lord, Thank you for healing us physically and healing our sins. Amen.
